Life After Football: How Friday Night Teams Shift to Spring
Although the tall task of football is over for the hard working students of Timber Creek, the year is far from over. Spring semester presents a whole new set of challenges and work.

On Saturday, Jan. 25, the drumline and winterguard programs will be hosting their annual indoor showcase for their 2020 season. The showcase will start at 8 p.m. in the gym. Admission is $5 at the door and children 5 and under will be admitted into the event for free.

What happens to the band when ‘Friday Night Lights’ end for the year?

The varsity and junior varsity Winterguards competed at the WGI Dallas regional competition last Saturday, Feb. 8. Both guards advanced to finals after their prelims performances, something that has never been done at a WGI contest in Timber Creek history.

This Saturday, January 26, the Timber Creek Drumline and Color Guards will be holding a showcase to premiere the work they have put into their spring contest shows.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center, the band will hold their annual Winter Concert. The event is free of cost, and is a great opportunity to hear some classic holiday music.

Both of Timber Creek’s winterguards brought home superior ratings and special awards at a regional competition on Feb. 17, 2018.

After the start of their new season, the Winterguard takes second place at their fourth competition this season.

After the end of a great marching season comes the indoor activities that are held during the winter. Those who weren’t able to join colorguard at the beginning of the year now have a chance to participate in winterguard.
