A mysterious creepy doll appeared on a bench in front of the steps of Keller’s Town Hall. The prank turned local attraction gained attention on the internet and has become a viral local sensation.

Local authorities say the prank happened late Feb. 9 around 9 p.m. Since then The City of Keller Government Facebook put up a post Thursday afternoon, showing the pale black haired “Creepy Victorian Murder Doll” sitting on a bench in front of Keller Town Hall.

Joking in the post saying ”So noooooormally we’d think nothing of it, but we’ve seen The Craft. And Annabelle. And Child’s Play. So….yea. We’ll be calling for some backup from Keller Public Safety on this one”.

Since the Facebook post, the bench and doll have become a hotspot attraction for locals and visitors. Creating a trend of people showing up to the bench to take selfies with the creepy doll, taking local feed by storm. With even the city’s mayor participating.

The city’s social media team seizing an opportunity, responded to the situation by having some fun with it. The city posted the doll again this time giving it a nickname of Vicki M.

Since the Facebook post went up, it has nearly 10,000 likes, 4,000 comments and 16,000 shares.

Adding to all of this, the City of Keller sent out a Tweet late Thursday night, showing the doll replaced with an actual woman who is dressed like the doll. The Tweet read, “We’re not sure whether to be impressed or terrified. So our Creepy Victorian Murder Doll disappeared off her bench early this evening, and a life-sized version has evidently replaced her!”

As much as some wanted to believe the creepy appearance, it all came to an end when a local mom and her daughter and her friends took responsibility. The story goes the doll was originally left at one of the girls’ houses by one of their older sisters’ friends. None of the parents wanted to keep it, so the girls decided to drop it off at the town square as a prank. The mom said that her and the girls were surprised of the Internet response and how quickly it became viral online.

All fun however came to an end around Saturday when the doll mysteriously disappeared almost as fast as it appeared. The mom of the girls who left the doll said they went to go collect it to auction off at a church event, only to find that it had been taken.
