On Wednesday, Sept. 22, three dismembered adult bodies were found in a dumpster after the Fort Worth Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire off of Bonnie Drive, Fort Worth TX.

Authorities were only able to identify 42-year-old David Lueras. The other two victims were burned beyond recognition, but were thought to be either a teenager or an adult female.

On Monday, Sept. 27, 41-year-old Jason Alan Thornburg, was arrested and facing a charge of capital murder of multiple persons and being held at Tarrant County Jail.

Five days prior to the murders, Lueras met Thornburg at a motel in Euless and stayed with him. According to officials, the other two victims had also met Thornburg at the motel.

Fort Worth homicide detectives stated they were able to identify Thornburg and his interactions with a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was in the area around the time of the fire. The search by the police showed he did have the vehicle under his name causing more investigation.

Surveillance at the motel was then seen of Thornburg loading and unloading containers into the Jeep. Other footage found at the dumpster shows him dumping dismembered body parts from the containers and then proceeding to light a fire, according to the police.

Thornburg was then tracked down by police in Arlington where he reportedly gave his confession of his actions done with the the victims in the dumpster and going into detail over how he killed them. Fort Worth Police Department’s homicide unit was even shocked by his response.

Over the course of the news conference, police had said Thornburg confessed to a suspicious death in May, according to WFAA. According to the warrant, Thornburg’s roommate in their house in Fort Worth had died from a gas explosion but couldn’t be examined due to its severity. The warrant also stated Thornburg admitted in his interview with the police, that he was “sacrificing” his roomate before lighting a candle on an open natural gas line. Another warrant was released where Thornburg admitted to killing his girlfriend in Arizona.

Unsolved cases out of state or internationally have now been in the hands of authorities to determine if there’s connections between Thornburg.
