The Falcons continued their slump on Friday, Sept. 10, losing against Richland High School 30-34. Now residing with three straight losses, the team is searching for their first win of the year before District play begins. The Nest was vibrant, decorated in patriotic colors.

The game started relatively slow yet picked up in an instant. The Falcons went three and out for the first offensive drive and were met with Richland marching down to score a touchdown. In retaliation, the Falcons marched down the field. They capitalized the drive with a highlight reel-worthy catch from Junior Maddox Allbritton.

When the second and third quarters hit, separation was hard to come by. The Falcons charged hard to take back a lead in the third quarter, albeit it wasn’t enough. As the Royals then put up a 70+ yard touchdown play to take the lead. No points would be scored from there on out.

There was, however, plenty of bright spots on display. Senior quarterback Jacob Porter had over 320 passing yards, with multiple highlight-reel passes and plays, as well as over 24 yards himself in scrambling. As usual, junior Maddox Allbritton went off for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Senior kicker Jack Finder continued to sail the ball through the uprights, completing multiple PATs as well as field goals.

The Falcons look to find their first win of the year in their homecoming game against West Mesquite the following week. The game is on September 16th, 2021, at Keller ISD Stadium, and the kickoff is at 7:00 pm.
