In their first home game of the season, Timber Creek Varsity Football found problems on both sides of the ball. The Falcons were unable to stop Lewisville High School’s run game, allowing for six touchdowns on the ground. When it was all said and done, the final score was Timber Creek 24, Lewisville 53 for the Sept. 2 game.

With all games, there are always some bright spots. The junior receiving core of Lonnie Johnson and Maddox Albritton combined for a pair of highlight reel worthy touchdown catches, each with one respectively. Combined with a tough run up the middle from senior running back Alec Souimaniphanh, the offense did find moments of success throughout the game. Albeit, it wasn’t enough.

The Falcons’ special teams had clockwork execution, though. Great kicks from senior punter/kicker Jack Finder, along with great shoelace tackles from seniors Dillon Fitzmaurice and Chandler Dubbs, the special teams unit helped get the Falcons out of a pinch whenever needed.

Timber Creek starts the season in a slump, at 0-2. The Falcons look to bounce back and claim their first win of the season next week in an away game against Richland HS.
