After an intense back and forth game between the Varsity Football team and the Keller Indians, the Falcons fell short 38-35. Although players and fans were heartbroken by this disappointing loss, hope has sprung, as the team has advanced to round one of playoffs. The first playoff game will be played this Saturday vs. Euless Trinity, and the winner continues to advance throughout the post-season.

Throughout last night’s game, the score shifted between the two teams, after multiple touchdowns by players Kaden Bess, Isaiah Hooks, and Jaylen Harris. After a receiving touchdown by Keller, the Falcons found themselves down by 3 at the end of the 4th quarter. Junior starting quarterback, Jacob Porter, had a strong game, with defense backing him up from long runs by the Keller offense. With two seconds to go, the team attempted a long kick to try and tie the game, but fell short at the end. Even though the team lost and ended district with a record of 2-4, the team was able to move onto playoffs based on their amount of points scored.

With the Falcons having a higher amount of points scored throughout their season, the team was able to advance to playoffs instead of Keller. Both Keller and Central ended with a record of 2-4 in district, meaning that the team advancing to playoffs would have to have the lowest point differential. The Falcons were able to push through the season with +11 to then -1 for Keller. As for Central, Timber finished the season at -10 against the Chargers.

This will be the Falcons first playoff appearance after a 4 year dry spell, breaking Keller’s three year streak of playoff appearances. Timber Creek will advance to the playoffs in the 4-6A District for Texas.
