In lieu of a typical cookie bakesale, the TCHS choir program went the inventive route this year in their fall semester fundraiser. With a time frame of 40 minutes, Director Adrian Kirtley alongside new Assistant Director Alissa Suver, set up a Zoom “call-a-thon” to raise money for the year.

Choir students hopped on a Zoom and called as many contacts as they could in 40 minutes with a goal to raise $10,000 on the call.

“I definitely didn’t expect it to be as successful as it was…this call raised more than an entire year of cookie sales, we would’ve had to sell cookies 2 or 3 times a week to even get close to matching the money we raised today,” Kirtley said.

This money now gets to be used to fund competitions, travel (hopefully), uniforms, props, and professional instrumentalists for concerts. As of Oct. 6, the fundraiser had made $21,705 and the event page will remain open until Oct. 26.
