The Creek Yearbook staff has won four awards for their 2019 yearbook by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA).

“Each year, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association honors the top six entries in 91 categories across American high school student media including 39 yearbook categories,” Yearbook Advisor Kathy Beers said. “For Timber Creek to place in four of those categories speaks to the quality of work that staff is striving for. Only a handful of other high schools in the country earned more awards than Timber Creek.”

For the “Alternative Story Form” category, Editor In Chief Lauren Graham placed for her “Friday Checklist” page involving how prep for football games goes about.

For the “Headline Writing” category, senior Lauren Quattlebaum and Copy Editor Aleena Davis placed first place for separate pages.

For the “Photo Portfolio of Work” category, former student and Editor In Chief Taylor Deker placed for her range of photos.

For the “Sports Action” category, former student Megan Chormicle placed first for her “Breaking Records” picture.

“There are thousands of entries in the Gold Circle competition,” Beers said. “For our students to place in four categories and get first place in two is pretty amazing. I am beyond proud, but not surprised. We have such talented students at TC and I’m just blessed that I get to work with a few of them.”

Congratulations to all the winners!
