When applying to colleges, the cost of tuition is the aspect that often makes or breaks one’s choice of attending. To ease these costs, Keller ISD offers information on their website about college applications, tools, and scholarships.
The Keller ISD Education Foundation (KEF) will award a total of $10,000 in scholarships, and administer a total of $6,000 on behalf of the Rotary Club of Keller and a generous donor, to graduating seniors in Keller ISD.
According to the KEF scholarship webpage, “scholarship recipients can use scholarship funds toward tuition at an accredited college, university, community college or trade school.”
The KEF will award one Timber Creek senior with a $2,000 scholarship. Additionally, the Rotary Club of Keller scholarship of $1,000 will be granted to one Timber Creek student, and one $1,000 at-large scholarship for Keller ISD.
The scholarships will be granted based on academics, activities/clubs/leadership, as well as community service, financial need, essay and recommendation. The application period for this scholarship opened on Feb. 3, and will close on March 6. Winners will be announced in May at each high school’s senior awards.

Another scholarship being offered to students in Keller ISD is the 2020 True Texas Project Scholarship. According to the True Texas Project webpage, the project is committed to supporting you people as they stand strong for conservative values within the public school system. In order to achieve this, the project is offering four $500 scholarships to high school seniors in Tarrant County.
To apply for the scholarship, students must complete an application and submit a public service announcement styled video of one minute or less on a conservative topic of their choice.
The deadline to apply is April 4, and winners will be announced on April 30 on the True Texas Project’s social media pages, as well as their website. For information regarding the application process, please email TTPExecutiveDirector@gmail.com
Another scholarship opportunity available to students is the Nathan Herzog Scholarship, granted by the Nathan Herzog Scholarship Foundation. This scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded to one graduating senior in Keller ISD.
The application requires seniors to write a 200-300 word essay on the reasons one feels that they are deserving of the scholarship. Seniors must also fill out a one page form, including information such as their family’s annual household income, how many siblings the applicant has, and if they have any work experience.
The application deadline to apply for the Nathan Herzog Scholarship is April 24. Applying seniors must turn in their form and essay stapled together into the counseling office by this time. Click here to see the application.
