The deadline for completion of seat time for the fall semester is Dec. 6. Students who do not complete their seat time hours by this date may have to repeat the course they missed to earn credit for it.
Students who have exceeded the number of absences allowed by state law (nine absences in first and fifth periods, and four absences in second, third, and fourth periods, respectively) are required to serve seat time hours.
In order to check their seat time owed, students may check the papers posted by the attendance office behind the north hall staircase, as well as on Home Access Center (HAC). Students are only able to check their time owed through HAC while connected to Keller ISD wifi, so students will only be able to view this information on campus.
Here’s a few ways students can complete their seat time:
- Falcon Night School is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in room M106 with Emily Boehringer.
- Saturday School is on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will meet Assistant Principal James Johnson at the front of campus. Students will not be allowed in after 8:10 a.m. as the doors to the campus will be locked at that time.
- Students can spend time outside of the school day by attending tutorials with their teacher(s) to enhance/reinforce their knowledge of instruction and will receive double time for this option, if approved by an administrator.
Attending a required practice or rehearsal for athletics/fine arts is not an acceptable form of seat time.
Before making up seat time, students need a Credit Denial sheet. These sheets can be picked up from the attendance office, and needs to be signed by a teacher or administrator to verify that a student completed seat time.
Additionally, seniors who wish to purchase prom tickets for $80 in January must have no seat time by Thursday, Dec. 19.
