Last Thursday, Oct. 10, Timber Creek lost to Denton Guyer by a score of 30-0 at the Keller ISD Stadium. The game–which only lasted one half due to inclement weather–got out of hand in the first half.

The Falcons were unable to find an answer for the one-two punch of Guyer quarterback Eli Stowers and running back Kaedric Cobbs. Stowers was able to amass 179 total pass yards in the first half, with a passer rating of 146.8. Additionally, Cobbs ran for 128 yards on ten carries, averaging 12.8 yards per carry.

Creek on the other hand could not find any points to challenge Guyer. Quarterback Jason Akers seemed to be retreating out of the pocket to escape pressure on every snap. Furthermore, Timber’s offensive-line was nowhere to be found when the Guyer blitz came down on the helpless Falcons.

Although the game was a loss, the spirits remained high, a result of the student section’s dedication. The Falcon’s student section, appropriately named the Nest, was a sea of pink shirts in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Timber Creek will travel to Northwest ISD Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 17, ready to take on their rivals, Byron Nelson. Make sure to come out and support a 1-5 Timber Creek, as they fight for their second win of the season.
