Last Friday, Sept. 6, Timber Creek fell to 0-2 as they dropped an away game to Prosper High School.

The Falcons dug a hole that they could not get out of in the first half. Disabled by early defensive struggles, the team could not get anything going.

After a promising defensive stand in the second quarter, the offense was unable to capitalize, and were forced to punt. Unfortunately, on the punt, Landon Rust dropped the ball on a bad snap. Prosper jumped on the fumbled pigskin to make it a 27-0 game in the second quarter.

The next two quarters were defined by Prosper’s offense dominating the game, as Timber Creek was held scoreless until the last final minutes of the game, when Mason McCrary–usually a WR, but playing QB–scored on an Option to the right, making the score 49-7.

While being beat by 42 points may be a tough pill to swallow for the Falcons, perhaps avoiding being shutout by a perennial playoff contender like Prosper is a silver lining to the game.

An important Homecoming game is approaching for Timber. The Falcons will be at home this Friday versus West Mesquite, as they hope to find the win column for the first time this season. Come out and support your Falcons for Homecoming!
