Last Friday, Timber Creek won their first game of the season over Ty Jordan and West Mesquite. The 34-31 victory was heavily needed, as the Falcons have not found the win column in the last nine games, dating to last season.

Running Backs were the highlight of the night, as Creek’s own Kaden Bess amassed three rushing TD’s (the second a 97-yard sprint to the endzone) on the way to a Falcon victory. While Bess’ performance was stellar, it’s impossible to ignore West Mesquite’s Ty Jordan. Jordan was undoubtedly the best player on either side on Friday. The University of Texas-commit proved why he was being scouted by the likes of powerhouse D1 schools by scoring three touchdowns and racking up 230 all-purpose yards. Timber Creek had no answers for the shifty Jordan.

Along the way to their streak ending victory, the Falcons were helped along by WR Jefferson Hutchinson, who scored a crucial TD on a great throw from QB Jason Akers, DB Jerami Cook, who picked off West Mesquite’s backup QB for a pick six that turned the tide back in the Falcon’s favor.

While Timber Creek controlled most of the game, the 34-31 scoreline seemed to be a little too close for a game that Creek dominated. Timber Creek has an off week this week, and then plays Eaton at home next week at Home.
