The 2019 Falcon Football campaign began in an away match-up against Rockwall Heath on Aug. 29, and while confidence was high, execution simply was not there, as the boys in purple and gold lost a tough game to start the season.

Right out of the gate, Heath punished the Falcons with a 99 yard touchdown and extra point, giving them an early 7-0 advantage. Heath set the tone early, completely dominating for the remainder of the game.

While Timber Creek was able to respond with a 37-yard field goal by Jose Carlo Martinez, it proved to be irrelevant, as in their next possession, Heath scored another touchdown, heightening their advantage to 14 points to 3. After a pick six in the second quarter, Heath went up by 25 points, making the game a complete blowout at the half.

The second half saw Timber Creek score their one and only touchdown, giving the struggling team a glimmer of hope. That hope was quickly smashed by Heath, when they closed their scoring for the night with a 70-yard touchdown. The match ended in a grizzly 38-10 scoreline, favoring the home team.

The Falcons were surely excited to leave Rockwall, not looking back at the terrible loss. The good news is that hopefully it’s only up from here for the 2019 season. The Falcons travel to Prosper next week to face a tough Eagles squad.
