NHS will have their first meeting on Sept. 4 after school at 3:50 p.m. or Thursday, Sept. 5 in the morning at 7:50 a.m. All members must attend one of the meetings.

National Honor Society is a national organization composed of students who exhibit excellence in each of its four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The Timber Creek chapter strives to take each of these characteristics and push it out unto the student population in order to further improve the school.

“I’m most excited to just work with and get to know everyone in the organization and [to] see all the amazing things we do to better our school and society,” NHS President Kaylee Billstone said.

With new officers, NHS strives to affect and reach more people this school year through service projects, like their annual Hope for the Holidays, and more.

“One goal I have is to get everyone more involved,” Billstone explained. “I think making NHS feel more like a community will give it more of a positive impact.”
