National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is once again holding their iconic paint night, however, on Wednesday, Feb. 27 it will be a kids edition. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in room FA108 for a cheaper price of $10, children from ages 7 to 12 are welcome to come showcase their artistic talents.

“We wanted to do something everyone can have fun doing, not just the adults which the other paint nights have been suited for,” NAHS officer, Haley Hempen said. “This time it’s a more simple painting, they’re taping their initials on the canvas and then painting fun patterns so then they’ll have a personalized little artwork.”

With the revenue gathered, NAHS hopes to buy more art supplies in order to continue holding paint nights for teachers and students to enjoy. They also plan to put the funds towards future projects, such as painting a mural in the theater hall, to further their impact on the school. With the introduction of a kids edition paint night, they hope to send the message that art has no age limit and that anyone anytime can have fun being imaginative.

“The paint night [kids edition] allows NAHS to encourage arts in our elementary and middle school and lets kids show their creative side,” NAHS Vice President, Karson Gopffarth explained. “The kids edition also provides cheaper ticket prices and will have a lot more creative freedom for kids to have fun with.”
