This year marks the 10th year of the Film Festival, and entries are being accepting online now through Jan. 31.

All entrants who provided email addresses will be notified by email if they have been named finalists. A complete list of all finalists and their films will also be available online at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Mar. 28.

There are 10 categories to enter in, including comedy, music video, story, documentary, and more. There are also new categories such as: Foreign Language and Teacher Feature. The Weekend Challenge will also be returning this year.  For more information on the judging criteria click here. Students can enter by themselves, with friends, or as a class project. New this year is more finalists are allotted per entry category, allowing more students to be recognized for their high quality work – up to 10 films can now be made finalists in each category and age group. Also, longer clips will be presented at the awards gala, rewarding student efforts by showcasing more of their work. There is a larger theater venue, allowing all students, their families and friends, and the community to enjoy the festival together. As well as, a true festival-style all-day gala event from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. which will celebrate entries over an extended period of time, allowing guests to come and go, or stay for all categories.

Finalists will be honored at an Awards Ceremony to be held Apr. 27 where they will receive certificates, trophies and prizes. Each category will be presented at a specific time with more details to follow later. The “Filmmaker Campus of the Year” trophy is awarded to the school that enters the most films.
