On Saturday, November 10, the community is invited to the Timber Creek Campus to join us in the first ever Falcon Family Color Run. For a fee of $25, each participant will receive a white long-sleeved Color Run shirt, a pair of sun glasses, their own color packet to throw in the Grand Finale Party, and the opportunity to walk, jog, run, or skip our 1.4 kilometer course and be showered with beautiful colored powder.

The party will begin in the north band lot just off of Timberland and runners will be released to venture through each of the color stations set up around the TCHS campus. We’ll end near the south-west corner of campus with a music-filled celebration and each participant will get to throw their own packet of color into the air in a Grand Finale Party.

After the dust settles, we’ll have hot chocolate and other treats to purchase from the concession stand and even a fan station so you can begin the clean up.

We’ll have photographers along the route to capture your colorful morning and will post all photos to our website for you to download, share, and enjoy.

We know this is the start of a memorable family tradition and invite the entire community to join us at The Falcon Family Color Run.

Preregistration is required at https://intouch.kellerisd.net/ by Sunday, November 4.

Get the answers to the already Frequently Asked Questions below:

Do I need to be some sweet ole’ runner to do this?

Goodness, NO. There are plenty of other great races out there to test speed and performance. The Falcon Family Color Run event is all about a color crazy day with Falcon friends and family. You can run, walk, crawl, or cartwheel if you wish! It’s just 1.4 kilometers from start to finish.

What is included with my registration?

Each registered participant will receive our 2018 Falcon Family Color Run white long-sleeved t-shirt, a funky pair of sunglasses, and your own packet of color to throw at our Grand Finale Party. This will all come in a plastic sack that you’ll want to tuck into a pocket, so you can return your color-coated shirt to it for the ride home. Registration fee is $25 per person.

Is the Falcon Family Color Run a fundraiser?

YES!  Hosted by TCHS Student Media, proceeds from the Falcon Family Color Run will help fund a beautiful Falcon statue on the Timber Creek High School campus that will be enjoyed by the community for years to come.

Can children participate?

On one condition, if you are prepared to be one of the hippest moms/dads on the planet! If they can cover (running, jogging, walking, or strolling) the 1.4 kilometers of the Falcon Family Color Run course, they can absolutely join in the fun!

Can I run with my dog/cat/turtle?

For the safety of our runners and animal friends, we do not allow animals at the event.

How do I get my participant kit? How does that work?

All participants will check in before the event and be given their white, long-sleeved 2018 Falcon Family Color Run shirt and sunglasses. Participants are all required to wear the provided shirt while on the course.

How is the color administered along the course?

You will see smiling faces along the course whose main goal is to douse you in colorful powder to ensure that you look like you tangoed with a unicorn by the time you cross the finish line.

Will the color ruin clothes or running shoes?

The color does mostly wash out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful, and making sure to wash your color run items separately from your other laundry. OR if you want to keep your shirt looking colorful forever, click here to find instructions.

Do you have a cleaning station at the finish after party?

We have air blown color cleaning at the finish line. With a good dusting off, you aren’t 100% clean, but you are good for the drive home.

How does the color affect the inside of cars?

Most people bring some towels for the insides of their cars, or a change of clothes just in case.

Do the Color Zones affect runner vision? Or breathing?

The color powder used at The Color Run event is all certified non-toxic and free of any heavy metals. Our bright colors are a combination of cornstarch, baking soda, and FD&C dyes. As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes and our color throwers make sure to aim low as you pass by. Some Color Runners opt to wear the provided sun-glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for their mouths.

Can spectators attend the post-race Grand Finale Party?

Absolutely. We’d love to see everyone join in the fun and get doused with color, but if that’s not your cup of tea, you can hang out and drink hot chocolate while the participants complete the course, then you can join them at the Grand Finale Party! But be warned, you aren’t coming out of there clean!

Are cameras and phones safe to have in the color zones?

Our race photographers are generally fine shooting from a medium distance of 50 feet, but to be totally safe we always recommend covering cameras/phones with a protective dust wrap or plastic baggie. Those colorful powder particles are sneaky and The Falcon Family Color Run is not liable for any damage that might be done to your camera!

Will photos be available?

YES! Since our AMAZING TCHS Student Media is running the event, you can bet we will have the most awesome photos around. Photographers and videographers will be at the event to catch all the colorful action, then we will post all our photos for you to download, and share for free.

What else is there?

The entire event is held on the TCHS campus. The concession stand will be open to enjoy hot chocolate or other snacks, and our own radio station, TCFM, will be providing music and broadcasting live.

Are there refunds?

If an event is held as advertised, we cannot issue refunds. The logistics of setting up and planning the event make it impossible.

What happens if there is bad weather?

A little rain won’t stop The Falcon Family Color Run! It even makes the color brighter! If there are major weather warnings in the area during the weekend of the event, check TimberCreekTalon.com and stay tuned for emails with updates.
