Developing his style since the 8th grade, freshman Ethan Hyatt says his style gives him a “hipster” appearance. His fully buttoned up shirts are not the only thing that sets him apart, though, as he has been interested in playing drums for the jazz band since he was just four years old. While watching his brother Reese at a concert, he recalls seeing a drummer who looked to be about six years old. “I was like, ‘I want to be the first four-year-old drummer!’ and I’m sure there’s more, but I was like, ‘I’m gonna be the first,’ so I started playing,” Hyatt says. He now plays in the Timber Creek Jazz Band, along with his brother and many new friends.
