Registration is now open for the annual Bands of Keller Music Miles 5K race. The event will be held on April 28, 2018 at 1100 Bear Creek Parkway in Keller. The scheduled start time is 8 a.m., and a warm up will be available at 7:45. The race will be a chipped time event and is for all ages and fitness levels.

Funds received from the event will benefit each of the four bands in Keller ISD and could help them to make something possible during the fall.

As you run the 5K, each of the Keller ISD high school bands will be stationed along the route playing pep tunes for encouragement and enjoyment. Adding this to the race was a unique way to make the race fun.

“Having the bands play as you run the race is really exciting,” said Erin Obregon. “I love being able to run past my friends as they play fun and encouraging pep tunes to keep me going along the way.”

You can register at musicmiles5k.com and will have the option to choose a school affiliation for who the runner supports. Please select Timber Creek upon registering–do not leave this section blank.

There is a registration fee of $30 per participant which will include a race t-shirt. All funds paid to the Bands of Keller race are non-refundable. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants prior to Monday, April 23. Registrations after that including the day of the race will remain at a cost of $30 with no guarantee of a race shirt.

Packet pick up will be Thursday, April 26 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and Friday, April 27 from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Keller ISD Natatorium Lobby. Race day registration is at 6:45 a.m. on race day, located at the start/finish line.

Additionally, there will be a few vendors present for the runners enjoyment after the race before awards are announced.

Awards will be given for the top three finishers, and then the next top three finishers after that in each gender and age category.

The Bands of Keller 5K is an opportunity for all four of the Keller ISD high school bands to join together in an effort to raise money for the upcoming year and bond with other band members while playing fun pep tunes all for a good cause. The Timber Creek Band as well as all other three bands in the district would greatly appreciate participation in the event.
