When presented with a tweet asking about a winter dance, Principal Donnie Bartlett replied, “We will have a dance in February. It is going to be a Sadie Hawkins. More details to come.” Months later, those details are finally here. The Sadie Hawkins dance will be on Friday, Feb. 23 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the cafeteria.

The Sadie Hawkins dance is traditionally a ladies choice dance, in which the women ask the men to be their date or to dance. In addition to the Sadie Hawkins aspect of the dance, the theme will be ‘Old Hollywood.’

“This theme we felt is fun and exciting,” Theatre Booster member Kelly McCormack said. “Students will have a grand entrance, including walking in on a red carpet.”

During lunches on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting Jan. 22, the Theatre Boosters will be selling gender neutral invitations for $1 to assist anyone trying to ask that special someone to the dance. Office aides will deliver the invitations during classes on their behalf. It is encouraged to attend the dance with or without a date.

The Theatre Boosters are known for selling Chick-Fil-A sliders during lunches on Tuesdays. Now, the purchase of a slider comes with a chance to win tickets to the dance.

“We are raffling off two tickets for the dance. Earn one raffle ticket for every Chick-Fil-A slider purchased [at lunch],” McCormack stated. “The winner will be picked on Feb. 14.”

DJ Randy Senter, “Mouth from the South,” will be in charge of entertainment for the evening. Additionally, the dance will have a photo booth, cooling station, snacks and water tables, as well as glow sticks, confetti cannons and more.

Ticket sales will begin Monday, Jan. 29, tickets $25 per person. Only 1,300 students will be able to attend. Visit http://www.tchstheatreboosters.com/ to purchase.
