With football comes hard work, wins, and losses, and Timber Creek football is no exception.

Coming off the bye week, Timber Creek is on the losing side of the gridiron. The Falcons, half way through the season, have a record of 4-1 in non-district and 0-1 in district play. Some fans may be left wondering why Timber Creek has the second best overall record in their conference, but are placed fifth in the standings. Fans should look no further than Timber Creek’s district record.

Timber Creek is in Division 6A Region 1 District 3, with Fossil Ridge, Haltom, Keller, Abilene, Weatherford, and Keller Central. Games that the Falcons play against these schools are put in a separate record apart from the overall record. Wins and losses to district teams are pivotal in terms of the season, and playoff chances. Only the top four of the seven teams advance to the playoffs, standings are determined by district record. Therefore, because of Timber Creek’s district loss to Fossil Ridge the week of Oct. 6, their 0-1 record puts the Falcons in fifth place.

The Falcons will need to bounce back after the tough loss, as they prepare to begin the second half of the season, playing all district teams for the last five games of the season. Timber Creek hopes to start the second half in winning fashion, as they attempt to take down an 0-6 Weatherford. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. at the KellerISD Stadium.
