Varsity Volleyball has been making impressive strides this season as it is the first time the team has made playoffs in school history. With a strong win to loss ratio of 7-4, they have shown improvement this season both internally and externally.

By hard work and dedication, the volleyball team is ranked 24 in the Texas 6A division and 105 in the state overall. Junior Anna Thomas, who began playing competitive volleyball around the age of 13, touches on the personal effect the sport has had.

“I’ve been able to gain new relationships and appreciate the sport more as I get older,” she said.

They collected a win against Haltom three to zero in a Friday night away game on Oct. 20. The team is hoping for great success in playoffs.

“We have started to grow more as team and a family, which transfers a higher level of play on the court,” Thomas commented on how the team has evolved.

The next match will take place against Fossil Ridge on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m.

“The excitement you get in a game and the fun you have in practice has kept the love of the game alive for me,” Thomas concluded.
