With the team 3-1 in their district, Timber Creek Tennis looks to have a strong rest of their season after qualifying for playoffs for the first time.

Defeating Haltom 19-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 19, members of the team like Katelin Tran hope to make it further in the competition than past years.

“We’ve started the season strong,” said Tran. “We won our third district match [this week], so we’re eligible for playoffs this year. We’ve won three matches 19-0 against Colleyville, Fossil Ridge, and Haltom, so we’ve had our ups and downs…but I think the new freshmen [and each player generally] are great teammates and bring a refreshing energy to the team this year.”

The tennis team will be competing against Denton on Friday, Sept. 22 at home, where they look to continue their success of district play. Playoffs start October 16 for the team.
