The Food Truck, Street Eatz, has been around since the 2015-2016 year. They have done their best to accommodate the needs and wants of students over the past few years, but this year they are switching things up. There have been concerns from students that there are no vegetarian options available.

Chef Leonor Wilford, the Food Truck Manager Vernon Bates, and the Dietician McKenzie Montgomery got together and came up with the advanced menu. They looked at what options were already available to Timber Creek, the popular vegetarian items and what kind of vegetarian options restaurants sold. They came up with Hummus Wraps, Vegetable Wraps and salad. Concerning allergies, there will be soy in the Vegetable wraps and salad. The Hummus Wraps, however, will be soy free.

Emma Dovers, a student at Timber Creek, ate school lunches until fifth grade, when she decided to become a vegetarian and found that there were not any options available for her. Dovers said she is open to the new changes.

“I always have to pack my own lunch because of [the lack of vegetarian options], maybe I’ll actually eat school lunch for once,” said Dovers.

Other options that are not vegetarian have also been added to the menu. These new options are Fish Tacos and Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese.
