For students looking to learn more about health care professions and the medical field, Health Occupant Students of America Club is a great place to start. Their first meeting is Sept. 7 at 3:50 p.m. in room C206. Students who desire to join the organization can pick up an application and learn further information about the club.

Meetings will be held regularly on the first and third Thursday of the month, membership fees are $35 and can be paid at the school webstore.

HOSA is a student led organization that educates and prepares members for future occupations within the medical field by bringing in guest speakers and taking field trips throughout the year to healthcare facilities. They also emphasize the importance of community service projects as well by participating in events such as the Carter Blood Drive, the Community Health Fair and Holiday Cards production for patients at Cook’s Children Hospital.

HOSA is open to all students and requires no prerequisites.
