Timber Creek Television’s announcements will be live during lunches Feb. 16 and 17, 2017.

During each lunch period on those dates, TCTV students will be anchoring and reporting live from their studio and broadcasting the content onto the large screen in the cafeteria.

The exercise is designed to help Broadcast students get experience in a real-world live news production.

“Students will be anchoring, switching cameras, adding graphics and videos and basically performing all the functions of a real-world newscasts for the lunchtime audiences,” Broadcast advisor Greg Janda said.

There will be a live broadcast during each of the lunch periods, meaning students will conduct four live shows in the span of the two hour broadcast period.

“Hopefully we’ll give many students the opportunity to try out different roles during these newscasts so they can find things they feel comfortable taking part in,” Janda said.

The broadcasts will be entered into competition for the student newscasters while simultaneously serving the needs of the largest amount of students per broadcast.
