Volunteers working towards earning their Green Cord will now be able to find events and opportunities with ease. Stacey Cleveland, the Green Cord Coordinator, has revised the system to simplify the process for both students and teachers.

“I switched to the new system being totally online because we are trying to save paper and students kept losing their packets,” Cleveland elaborated.

The system of Green Cord opportunities was revised to improve coordination and communication between volunteers and teachers. Teachers or community members will fill out the form if they need volunteers, which will be posted in such a way that students will be able to see the events instantly. With the new system, the person requesting the volunteers will provide their contact information so students can reach them directly.

Community members and teachers will fill out a Google Doc to request volunteers and ensure there are enough slots filled for the event. Students will be able to find all of their needed information in one place and receive more accurate, timely information.
