Bump. Pin. Rest. Repeat. Those are the daily thoughts of a TC wrestler. They are always working to make it to the next round, the next match, the next tournament. The team has hopes to become even bigger and better this year. In the 2015-2016 school year our fighting Falcons battled their way through the barriers of regionals’ and made it to state for a second time.

On Oct. 22 and 23, five TC wrestlers went to Las Vegas to compete in a wrestling tournament called Freak Show. Freak Show is a Preseason National tournament where anyone can can compete and brings in people all over the country.

“It’s the best of the best going against each other,” said TC wrestler Rachel Ingram, “It’s a tough competition because so many people do show up, but if you do place in the top eight you are given the status of ‘All American’.”

In the 2016 Freak Show Tournament six of Timber Creeks very own participated, Will Caillet, Tommy Dalzell, Roderick Valentine, Brendan Medlin, Chase Carter, and Austin Fox.

When asked about Ingrams’ hopes for the future she replied, “I am hoping just to do my very best this year… I think we’re all going to have many improvements from last year.”

“[Wrestling] is one of the toughest sports out there and you really have to be dedicated to do it and compete,” said Ingram, “Losing weight, long practices and so much ore is draining but getting your hand raised at a tournament is so worth it.”
