Timber Creek kicks off its annual “Hope For The Holidays” fundraiser on Oct. 31 which spans the whole month of November until Dec. 2.

The “Hope For The Holidays” fundraiser, organized by TC’s National Honor Society, NHS, benefits local families in need during the holiday season by donating all the money that is raised. Last year, NHS was able to provide for 28 families throughout the community.

“NHS believes that everybody should be able to enjoy the holidays and all the happiness it brings, but it’s hard for those who are financially unable,” Dillon Fontaine, Student Body President and NHS Vice President, commented.

Students can donate in their English classes. The class that raises the most money will win a ice cream party and teachers will be able to buy jean passes for the second semester.

Each English teacher has a tree in their room and the students of that teacher are in charge of “decorating” their tree. Students can decorate the tree by donating money for cut outs. Donations of 50 cents will get a Christmas tree cut out, donations of a dollar will get a snowman cut out, a star for $5 and a gingerbread man for $20.

“Last year, we raised a little over $3,000 and this year we hope to shatter that number,” Fontaine said, “If everybody donated at least one dollar, we would already raise a little over our goal.”
