As of Thursday, August 25, Street Eatz food trucks returned to Timber Creek High School. Having been first introduced during the second semester in 2015, KISD officials told Talon reporters that they were hoping that the truck would benefit all the schools instead of having a stationary service line at one school.

Food for Street Eatz is provided from a majority of the same sources as the cafeteria and is to be supplied with most of the same foods as the previous year. The truck is stocked with foods such as burritos, burgers and tacos, and menus rotate throughout the weeks. Just as last year, the truck is serving outside on the paved driveway of the cafeteria.

“The plan for a food truck in Keller ISD has been about two years in the making, as we were looking for new ways to reduce crowding and provide more choices during high school lunches,” Anita Peden, Director of Child Nutrition Operations and Maintenance, told Talon reporters during the 2015 school year. “The addition of the truck will give students an alternative at least one day a week.”

Just like 2015, the truck is not with us everyday due to its rotating schedule: Central on Monday, Fossil on Tuesday, Keller on Wednesday, and Timber Creek on Thursday.
