Timber Creek will have two of our very own representing our school at the State Track Meet at the University of Texas-Austin.

On Friday, May 13, Elise Hodges will be competing in the shot put. Going into the State meet she has the sixth-place distance thrown in the state with a throw of 41.6 and ½ feet.

On Saturday, May 14, she will be competing in the discus. Going into the meet she has the third-place throw in the state with a throw of 136.4 feet.

“One thing about Elise is she keeps getting better and better every week,” Hodges’ coach, Lonnie Judd said. This season she has broke the school record for both discus and shot put. The record was set last year by her as well.

On Saturday, May 14, Malique Williams will be competing in the long jump. Williams jumped a 23.6 feet to qualify for the state meet.

“He continues to improve as the season has moved along and is about to come to an end,” Williams’ coach, Rickey Badley, said.

At the beginning of the season, Williams also broke the school record. Throughout this year he has broken his own record three different times.

Both competitors and their coaches will be going down Friday afternoon prior to Elise’s shot put competition
