The Timber Creek band program has been doing very well this concert season. The directors and their students have been working together since the start of the semester to put together great programs for four of their five bands to perform at UIL, which occurred over the course of two days on April 6 and and April 7.

The Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert 1 Band performed at UIL. This is the first time that Concert 1 has gone to UIL, and it turned out fantastically – all four bands received ones in both performance and sight-reading. It’s very unusual for a school to take four bands to UIL, much less for all of them to do so well.

That’s not the only thing the bands have going for them, either. On Feb 26, the Wind Symphony recorded a program for submission to the Western International Band Clinic and were invited to do a concert in Seattle next November. Additionally, the top three bands will be submitting recordings to other contests at the end of the year.

The band program is holding a concert on May 10. If you want to hear these wonderful performances for yourself, mark your calendars now.
