On Saturday, February 20th, the Timber Creek track and field team hosted their first meet of the 2016 season. With ease, the women’s overall team won with first place, and the men’s overall team won in second, out of ten schools attending.

The most interesting aspect of this meet is that schools were allowed to bring up to eight competitors (four on varsity, four on JV), rather than the usual six (three on varsity, three on JV). This gave a chance to take a closer look at the runners, jumpers, and throwers’ times and distances. This, luckily, worked out of Timber Creeks favor.

The excellent track program has no days off. Monday through Friday, with the exception of pre-meet workouts, the runners and throwers work hard, not only competing at meets, but competing with one another, as well.

The next meet will be this Thursday, February 25, at the Old Birdville Stadium in Haltom City. We encourage the TCHS community to come out and support our teammates as we work our way towards district.
