On Tuesday, April 7, the Timber Creek varsity softball team will be honoring fallen solider SPC Marieo Guerrero and his family after the game against Fossil Ridge.

TCHS varsity softball player Caitlyn Curlee’s select team, Texas Bombers, has a program they’re involved in called 4-the Fallen. 4-the Fallen is a program allowing teams to honor fallen soldiers by wearing special jerseys with soldiers names on them. Then, at the end of the season, the player presents the jersey to the service members family, promising to never forget the sacrifice the service member made for our country.

Curlee’s jersey honored Guerrero who was sadly killed in action while serving in Iraq on March 17, 2010. Guerrero’s family will attend the game and ceremony honoring their late brother and husband. The ceremony will follow the varsity game, which starts at 5:30 p.m.
