With their season coming to a close, the Timber Creek Track and Field Team ran the fields at their Area Championships on Friday, April 4.

The boys track team tied Arlington Lamar for second place, and the varsity qualifiers competed at the Keller ISD Athletic Complex, having worked towards Area since the very first day of school, and even further developing once the season began.

Having taken first place at their previous Districts Meet, the season has served as nothing less than memorable for the athlete, particularly leaving its mark on seniors like Dylan Sallee.

Competing against some really fast teams and keeping up with them was very exciting,” said Sallee. “I’ve really had the time of my life…making memories.”

Dedicated in their work to prepare for their season, the track team became immersed in reaching their goal of sending multiple athletes athletes to their area division competition. With the boys 4x200m relay breaking their record the previous 2016-2017 season, Sallee once again set his sights high for his future accomplishments. With the hope of breaking the 4×100 relay record during the current year, team members Kaden Bess, Nate Monticure, Emmanuel Wilson and along with Sallee, were able to accomplish their season’s intentions.

We broke the 4x200m relay last year, so it was only right that we try and break [the 4x100m relay record],” said Sallee. “I have become close to a lot of people that I probably would not know unless I was in track. Joining the team was one of the best things I’ve done in high school.”
