Baseball Hopes To Change-Up Their Luck This Season

With Timber Creek’s baseball season pitching off with their game against Denton Guyer on Feb. 5 at Denton Guyer High School, the Falcons hope to find success leading into this season, achieving their team goals as well as individual expectations, giving their seniors a farewell season to remember.

With star senior players hoping to end their career well, and viable underclassmen hoping to make a lasting impression, the season looks bright for the Falcons. Senior Nic Thompson is coming up on his last season, having maintained the same mindset throughout his career, hoping for a powerful end performance for his team and himself.

“[My goal is]… just to stay within myself and get my job done to help the team,” Thompson said.

Likewise, junior Lance Barnett has a similar mindset to his senior counterpart entering the new year, working hard on and off the field to improve the team’s chances of exceeding hopes. With a good start to the season thus far, the team has worked together for their common goal: success.

“I feel good coming into the season,” said Barnett. “With the players we have and the coaching staff we can do some good things. I’m going to work hard on and off the field to become the best player I can be to help my team win.”

No matter the grade level, the mindset for the players are the same, they want to keep themselves in check and play good baseball as a team.

My individual goal for the season is to maintain my spot in the lineup and to work hard in practice and in the cages to help my team score runs,” Barnett said.

With their next game on March 24, varsity baseball will face Joshua High School at Timber Creek High School at 11 a.m. The Falcons have yet to make a deep playoff run in their 9 year history. One thing is certain though; Timber Creek will try their hardest to assure comprising a triumphant season.
