With their last game against Abilene, Timber Creek’s Football season has come to an end. After a promising 4-0 start, the Falcons struggled, going 2-4 in their final six games.

Timber Creek’s first four games were nothing short of blowouts, with the Falcons winning every game by at least 15 points. With a tough district game against Fossil Ridge, the tide seemed to have turned in the fifth game. Holding strong, although the athletes tried to maintain their winning season, Fossil Ridge showed out with a win 28-25, with the team losing their starting Quarterback Dylan McCary in the process, taking scrambling almost completely out of the offense. Backup Quarterback, Adrian Ranete, was left to fill the role of newly injured McCrary, but his conflicting play style of pocket passing and the struggle the offensive line faced of holding a block, created an obstacle that the team was unable to overcome.

Going on with their season, Timber Creek went on to beat Haltom and Weatherford by narrow margins. The Falcon offense was not as consistent as it was previously in the season. Coming up on the last three games, the team’s playoff hopes were still alive. With only one district loss, the Falcons had to beat Keller or Central to keep their hopes alive. With the games running into overtime, the student-athletes were unable to come back against either teams.

During the last game of the season, the Falcons who were already eliminated after a Haltom victory over Central, had a final score of 40-14, with the possible starting Quarterback Gage Haskin snapping the ball in preparation for future games.

Timber Creek’s hopeful season, tarnished by McCrary’s injury and the offense coming up short, ended in disappointment for these student-athletes. Although Timber Creek did not make the playoffs, the Falcons still managed to further develop their team in hopes of next season, along with several senior players looking to commit to colleges in the near future.
