History has been made. Your 2016 Falcons have done something that has never been done before. In past years the name Timber Creek would usually be used as a joke when on the subject of football. In past years your Falcons have been just another team with a losing record. But this year… things have changed.

This year, your Falcons so far are 7-4 with not only a playoff appearance… but a playoff win.

Timber Creek Varsity Football made history on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 taking down Arlington Martin High School in a close game that put Timber on top 54 to 51 at the final.

In many past years the very thought of even going to the playoffs was enough to get anyone excited, but to win a playoff game for the first time in Timber Creek history is enough to make anyone instantly happy.

At the beginning of the year the team had a goal; to win the #GFB which means Gold Football for those of you who have been confused for the past 12 weeks. In order to win the GFB a team must either win district or win a playoff game. While both seemed possible this year, the main focus was to win district since winning a playoff game was such an outlandish idea. That goal after losing to Fossil Ridge, Central, and Abilene was put to an end.

Where many past Timber teams would have given up on the season and fallen short of the GFB goal, this year’s team pulled things together and did what needed to be done.

But their next opponent is an undefeated beast that will be heading to Keller ISD Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Nov. 18, 2016.

San Angelo Central has yet to be defeated and has played District 3A rival Abilene (who is also still in the playoffs) to put up an impressive 63-26 win over the Eagles.

Tickets will be available at Timber Creek High School for $8 for adults and $6 for students through Thursday. Tickets can also be purchased online at the following link: https://kellerisd.brushfireapp.com/tchs/435115

On game day, ticket prices increase to $10 at the gate.

Students will also have the opportunity to join the send off of the team at the Field House at 4:45 p.m. and there will be a tailgate at the game, with food provided, starting at 5:30.
