TCHS cheer had a successful weekend at the 2016 NCA National Championships with 5 performances over the Jan. 23-24 competition in Dallas.

The White Team (Game Day) placed in the top 10 in the Nation in two of the three Game Day events, Fight Song and Time Out Dance.

Gold Team (Intermediate JV) had their best performance of the season, and did an incredible job against a tough team. The group ended up placing second out of four other teams, that is incredible!

Purple Team won their first ever NCA National title in the Advanced Co-Ed division.

“After day 1, they were in second place by .55 of a point,” Cheer coach Jaime Morgan explained. “They had a dynamic performance on day 2 and came back to win the National title!”

The team was also awarded Best Use of Jumps and Best Showmanship.

“I could not be more proud of our kids! They all gave it 100% and their efforts paid off. The work was definitely worth it,” Morgan said in an e-mail to Talon.
