Keller ISD’s high school swim teams recently hosted the District 5-6A Swimming Championships on Jan. 22 and 23 at the Keller ISD Natatorium.

Timber Creek’s very own, Kamron Gopffarth, Drew McDonnell, Connor Allen, and Mitchell Blunt, brought home 1st place in the boys 400-yard freestyle relay.

Additionally, Blunt was awarded with 2nd place in the boys 50-yard freestyle and 3rd place in boys 100 –yard freestyle. Gopffarth was also awarded 2nd place in boys 100-yard backstroke.

Elaina Allen earned 5th place in both girls 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle. Allen also competed with her teammates, Karoline Austin, Sydney Meyer, and Josie Gunn in the girls 400-yard freestyle relay. The girls were awarded 4th place.

Due to the combined efforts of students from Keller ISD high schools, Keller ISD was able to advance 42 swimmers and divers, plus 17 relay teams to the Region 2-6A Championships. The championships will be held Feb. 6 and 5 in Lewisville.
