The annual Chad Powell Memorial Special Olympics Track Meet was held March 17 at Fossil Ridge High School.

Many of our fellow Timber Creek students were able to volunteer at the meet, along with many other students from Keller ISD and surrounding school districts.

The annual meet brings together more than 300 athletes to compete. The meet honors former Keller High School valedictorian Chad Powell who tragically passed away in 1999.

“The Chad Powell Special Olympics was a great experience,” Timber Creek sophomore volunteer Alison Shannon said. “Being able to help and form a relationship with the athletes was so rewarding.”

This years meet was a huge success and is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to fill out a form and volunteer.

All students are encouraged to sign up and enjoy next years meet.
